Company History

Origin
The origins of Eutech Cybernetic can be traced to research carried out between 1975 and 1989 at Imperial College of Science and Technology, London, England and the National University of Singapore in the areas of real-time and embedded control systems. Since its' founding in 1990, the Company has leveraged this expertise to develop unique and innovative products, solutions and services in a wide range of areas.

Early Years
During the early years of commercial activity, the main focus of Eutech was the development and manufacture of scientific and industrial instruments for diverse measurement and control applications. By 1995, this had become a highly profitable business with over 30 different types of scientific quality instruments being sold in over 60 countries.

Among other notable achievements was the award of a prestigious National Institute of Health (NIH) grant through the Centers for Disease Control in the USA - for the development of a novel handheld monitor for screening lead in blood.

Evolution
Eutech has been involved in software development since 1990. The first product was DOS-based software for laboratory and factory automation. The move into the enterprise software area came in 1994 with the award of a contract to implement the first Campus Intelligent Building Management System for Temasek Polytechnic in Singapore. The solution had the distinction of being the first system to integrate multiple, geographically distributed buildings over the campus fiber-optic network. Another project that Eutech implemented around the same time was an Island-Wide Maintenance Management System for managing the maintenance of 70 industrial buildings, for Jurong Town Corporation, Singapore's largest developer of industrial parks.

Between 1994 and 1999 the Eutech developed a number of innovative software applications such as a Virtual Post Office for Singapore Post, Traffic Congestion Management System for the Singapore Land Transport Authority and a Telemetering System for Senoko and Pulau Seraya Power Stations and an Outpatient and Pharmacy Management System for Changi General Hospital.

Recent Years
By 1996, Eutech had decided to make software its main area of focus and, consequently, spun off the Instruments business into a separate company called Eutech Instruments.

Between 1996 and 2001 Eutech invested over US$20 million in software product development and, in the process, has built up a development force of over 200 software engineers, located in centers in Chennai, India and Colombo, Sri Lanka.
