US-based KMC Controls and Eutech Cybernetics Enter into a Strategic Partnership to Release Their Next-Generation GUIPittsburgh, PA, Friday, August 01, 2003 KMC Controls, a leading Indiana-based manufacturer of building control (HVAC) products, and Eutech Cybernetics, a global software developer, have entered into a strategic partnership to introduce their next generation graphical user interface (GUI) software that will provide integration to building sub systems and with internet access capability. This new technology, based on Eutech’s personalSCADA software, will be marketed globally by KMC Controls as Acuity 2.0™. The user-friendly and powerful GUI, coupled with its inherent flexibility and capability to integrate into disparate building control subsystems will further enhance KMC Controls’ drive to provide its customers with intelligent, web-based building control solutions. Acuity 2.0™ will have interfaces to BACnet, OPC, LNS systems and will also provide full internet access. A few key and unique features of the product include its ability to distribute the backend load among many computers and yet manage the system as a single entity; intuitive drag-and-drop configurational capability and controller based schedules, alarms and trends. Distribution of the backend enables Acuity 2.0™ to seamlessly workaround one of the inherent limitations of all SCADA products, the point limitation. This, coupled with the comprehensive alarm and trend management functions, results in a complete end-to-end building controls system. Developing and releasing cutting-edge products and solutions is not new to KMC Controls. For over 30 years, KMC has had the vision to lead and the wisdom to thrive. They pioneered pneumatic control devices for heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) applications. They were leading participants as analog electronic controls took hold in building system design, and they’ve established a complete line of fully programmable digital products (as well as the required technical expertise) to fulfill the toughest challenges in today's building automation and energy management arenas. They currently have a substantial and ever increasing dealer network of around 150 dealers nationwide. Mr. Larry Odegarrd, Vice-President (Technical Services, KMC) says "Eutech’s personalSCADA software is a flexible product with great user functionality and it provides internet access with integration to subsystems. We found their approach to configuration (drag-and-drop) to be truly unique and user-friendly – something that we had not seen in other similar products. Their partnership approach to business development and their capability to provide customization of certain components of our solution quite simply made them the perfect fit for us." With Eutech, KMC Controls will find a technology enabler with years of domain expertise, proven staying power in this volatile industry and a platform to expand and diversify its service offerings thereby truly revolutionizing an industry that has so far lagged behind in its embrace of technology. Mr. Rao Gumpalli, Executive Vice-President (Eutech) adds, "Eutech’s partnership approach will benefit KMC in regards to ensuring that the proposed solution would be future proof, supported through on-going development by over 160 software engineers. We are pleased to be partnering KMC Controls in releasing their new GUI and enabling them to further consolidate their position as industry leaders." KMC Controls is targeting a release date of October 2003 for Acuity 2.0™. About KMC Controls About Eutech Cybernetics |
