Computer Associates and Eutech Cybernetics Announce Partnership to Offer Integrated Infrastructure Management Solutions

Singapore, Monday, April 22, 2002

Computer Associates International, Inc. (NYSE: CA), the world’s leading provider of the software that manages eBusiness, and Eutech Cybernetics, a Singapore-based, developer of advanced enterprise infrastructure management solutions, today announced a partnership to integrate Eutech’s iViva.works™ with CA’s Unicenter™ solutions for managing eBusiness infrastructures. This combination delivers a powerful, highly scalable and versatile solution that can manage IT networks and equipment; building equipment and services including energy, water and telecoms; and facilities management.

The partnership between CA and Eutech was facilitated under the Infocomm Development Authority of Singapore’s (IDA) iLIUP (Infocomm Local Industry Upgrading Programme).

The solution starts with Eutech’s iViva.works™ software platform. It enables organizations to integrate services for all infrastructures through a single service desk, offering a centralized, end-to-end facilities infrastructure management solution. iViva.works™ is comprised of a personalSCADA with device drivers and gateways to communicate with disparate facilities sub-systems for monitoring and control through a single point (GUI). The solution also incorporates Eutech’s FacilityOffice, a maintenance workflow management system, to allow pro-active and reactive maintenance including purchase and inventory management, asset management as well as service level management.

"As buildings grow to increasingly become nerve-centers of the new economy, there is a continually developing need to manage the environmental and networking infrastructure in a seamless, streamlined and integrated manner. Discerning corporate customers require increasingly cost-effective and scalable solutions that can be adaptively configured across different enterprise-wide requirements for increasingly intelligent and proactive infrastructure management software," said Dr. Hari Gunasingham, Chief Executive of Eutech Cybernetics. "CA’s Unicenter, the industry standard for enterprise management, offers an excellent enhancement to our iViva.works™ platform. By integrating with Unicenter, we offer a single, comprehensive solution at a competitive price point, with low total cost of ownership."

CA’s Unicenter is a scalable, flexible, fully automated and highly integrated solution to manage an extended enterprise for continuous availability and optimal performance. The Unicenter family of products provide true cross-platform enterprise management solutions that cover network and systems management, automated operations, IT resource management, database management, Web infrastructure management and application management. Through a flexible, enhanced architecture and innovative technology such as advanced intelligence and visualization, Unicenter delivers superior scalability and administration in a modular, easy-to-use design that grows with an enterprise’s needs.

"By integrating iViva.works™ with our powerful Unicenter, Eutech has created a cost-effective solution that lets customers access, maintain and manage their entire infrastructure easily and efficiently through a single service desk and simple graphical user interface," said Satish Chavali, Director, Business Development, Computer Associates. "By facilitating the interconnection of a variety of devices and controllers with CA’s Unicenter, Eutech has done a superb job of extending Unicenter’s functionality into the cost-effective management of essential non-IT infrastructures such as those found in large buildings, process environments and utility systems."

Eutech also has subscription-based ASP versions of these services available via personalSCADA.com and FacilityOffice.com. Applications that can ride on the iViva.works™ platform include Energy Manager, which facilitates portfolio-wide management of energy demand, consumption, quality and procurement. Eutech’s iViva.works™ provides an innovative and refreshing approach to facility infrastructure management by providing an end-to-end solution from device status monitoring to maintenance, asset and service level management across a portfolio of facilities. As an independent software developer, Eutech is not constrained by the restrictive proprietary communication protocols that most control system vendors use.

The two companies came together through the IDA’s iLIUP programme, which is designed to promote strategic, mutually-beneficial partnerships between Singapore infocomm enterprises and multinational corporations. CA recognizes the importance of building Singapore into a thriving, world-class software development centre and is a strong supporter of iLIUP’s goal of partnering with local firms to offer innovative solutions to world markets. Under this partnership, Eutech Cybernetics is enjoying free access to CA’s wide range of technologies, its technical resources and training programmes. CA is also providing Eutech with access to its extensive customer base.

"iLIUP is a great way for CA to connect with Singapore companies to ensure they have the resources needed to develop solutions for the global market, while enhancing CA’s own product portfolio. As the Eutech’s iViva.works™ software platform shows, this creates a true win-win situation for CA and our iLIUP partners," said Chavali.
