Consortium to Implement Island-Wide Energy Network

Singapore, Traders Hotel , Wednesday, July 18, 2001

Eutech Cybernetics today announced that it would be leading a Consortium of Companies to implement a Energy Network that would transform the current meter and bill system to a real-time, interconnected and interactive market place. The project is being supported by the Infocomm Development Authority (iDA) of Singapore

The Energy Network makes use of intelligent software agents that work over the Internet and respond, in real time, to events such as power fluctuations, outages and changes in electricity price. The Network would make it more feasible to incorporate environmentally friendly, micro-power generation resources located closer to the consumer to supplement power from the grid.

When completed, the Energy Network would be of great value to both consumers and generators of electricity in Singapore. Buildings can 'plug and play' into the Energy Network to optimize the consumption of energy by aggregating the demand of many buildings and even sell excess electricity – from local micro-power generators- back to the grid. This will allow the creation of 'virtual utilities'.

The Energy Network will be built with Eutech’s flagship software platform iViva.works™ and is expected to be completed in the first quarter of 2002.

Key members of the Energy Network consortium include Elyo – a wholly owned subsidiary of Tractebel, the energy arm of Suez, Eggsystems.com an associate of Eutech Cybernetics that provides Facility Management services to buildings, Parsons Brinckerhoff Consultants – a global Mechanical and Electrical Consulting and Engineering firm and Capstone Global Energy – a leading Consulting firm in the electricity sector based in Houston, Texas.

Eutech Cybernetics is a leading software company in the area of infrastructure management. The Company has is Headquarters in Singapore with global offices in Sunnyvale, Pittsburgh, Dallas, Kuala Lumpur, Chennai and Colombo. The Company has invested over US$20 million dollars and has taken over five years to develop the iViva.works™ platform.

Eutech Cybernetic’s customers include global 1000 companies. The Company, which has over 600 installations of iViva.works™ globally, works through partners such as Eggsystems.com. Eggsystems.com, which recently formed a joint venture with Colliers Jardine Singapore, would be a key partner in the Energy Network project.
